5 Signs It Might Be Time to Talk to Someone

Most people wait longer than they need to. Not because the signs aren’t there, but because they’re rarely dramatic — they show up as a slow accumulation of small things that are easy to explain away. Here are five worth paying attention to.

  1. You’re tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix. Physical rest isn’t touching it anymore.

  2. Things that used to feel manageable now feel like a lot — small decisions, small conversations, small tasks.

  3. You’ve started rehearsing conversations in your head that you’re avoiding having out loud.

  4. People close to you have mentioned, more than once, that you don’t seem like yourself.

  5. You’ve thought about therapy before — more than once — and talked yourself out of it each time.

None of these are proof of anything. They’re just worth noticing. If two or three feel familiar, that’s usually enough of a reason to have one conversation and see how it feels — no bigger commitment than that.
